Settle The Score (Harcore\Germany)

Infos: In January 1999, 3 friends wanted to start a new mayhem of a band. They had been a part of the HC scene for quite a while already, especially because they had their own label/ distro going called "Spill the Blood" Records. Having "just" a label/ distro wasn't enough for the guys though so they decided to form a new band. Bored and pissed of many things, they spit out all their anger and frustration in their songs and lyrics. They found a drummer to complete the team and it all started. Settle the Score was born and ready to destroy. They released a demo containing 3 songs and the response was awesome. Their Demo was even re-released by a friend of the Band in Japan and again it was quickly sold out. In the meantime MADMOB Records from Berlin contacted the band and proposed to make a deal with them for a MCD. Half a year later, after having played tons of shows and festivals, being opener for bands like IGNITE and RYKERS and many other HC Bands, they returned to the studio. MADMOB Records decided to put out another Release, this time a split CD/ LP with NJ BLOODLINE from New Jersey, USA and SWORN VENGEANCE from California. The CD/LP saw the light of day in February 2001. In the USA it was released by ON THE RISE Records. FILLED WITH HATE records meanwhile decided to release a SETTLE THE SCORE / SIDEKICK split single, which in the end was finally released on Decembre 12th 2000. Dozens of shows, festivals (like the DOUR Festival in Belgium with Run DMC and Iggy Pop, the Superbowl of Hardcore in Rennes), selling about 1000 records in Europe and about 3000 in the USA, and a Weekend Tour with the US Band NEXT STEP UP followed. After that, the time was right to tour the US with NJ BLOODLINE for three and a half weeks! They played all over the states, in New Jersey, NYC, Philadelphia, Chicago, Baltimore, Sacramento and Los Angeles, only to name a few. They came back stronger than ever. The time had come to once again return to the SONIC SOUND STUDIO and finally record their first full length. STS played more shows than ever before, including the EUROPEAN HARDCORE PARTY (SLAPSHOT, MURPHY'S LAW...), the OUTBACK OPEN AIR (4LYN, WATERDOWN...) and the CITY MOVEMENT MG (TORCH and many more). Right in time for their planned European Tour with their mates from EVERYBODY GETS HURT (NEW YORK, USA) their Full Lenghth "ROYAL FLASH" was released by MADMOB records. They went rampage on Europe for about 2 weeks (Germany, England, France, Belgium, the Netherlands) and the crowd response was amazing for them and EVERYBODY GETS HURT. By the end of 2002 STS had played over 200 shows. Their Full Length turned out to be their most successful and best release until today, featuring a stunning intro and moshparts everywhere... and the reviews done by all the Zines confirmed it even more. In 2003 the Full Length was released as a limited coloured LP on REALITY RECORDS. Now it was time for another blast. They tour Japan with EVERYBODY GETS HURT and TJ MAXX! Japan went crazy, 3 of 9 shows were sold out even before they landed in Japan. A perfect tour. After that experience, they played shows with the biggest names in the game like HATEBREED, BIOHAZARD, MADBALL, SICK OF IT ALL, TERROR, AGNOSTIC FRONT and tons more. Now it was time for a new output and they went to the studio to record the new record with the help of cuny (producer of german metal heroes BLIND GUARDIAN). With this masterpiece they will once again own the crown. ô5 Knuckle Philosophyö will be released on ALVERAN RECORDS May 23rd 2005. So keep your fucking eyes and ears open. This is not going to be the end... it's just the beginning... you have been warned.
