Imagine the perfect blend of Swedish metal and New York hardcore… You can't? Then you better listen to EYELESS, the newest French sensation! At the turn of the new millennium, the French metal scene was all about nu-metal. But a violent musical beast was about to rise… Eyeless was born in 1999, fed with melodic death and hardcore music, and blindly determined to crush it all. Their first EP, Self Inflicted Torture, was just a first bite of what they had to offer, but still it gave Eyeless a chance to share the stage with bands like Crytopsy, Dying Fetus and Vader to name just a few. In 2002, Eyeless releases a second EP, When Shadows Seduce, and thanks to it, is the winner of Roadrunner France contest “Ondes de Choc”, rightfully acclaimed as “best newcomer” on the French metal scene. As one can imagine, concert offers flew after this, leading eventually to the main support act of French rock stars Lofofora, at the mythic venue of La Cigale in Paris. After so much noise, a label is easily found and the first Eyeless album, Path to the Unknown, is released early 2004, to press accl.. “The cocktail Eyeless made for you will blow you away” (Hard N’Heavy), “Eyeless music will cleanse your ears for good” (Rock Sound). The following tour (with label mates Eths) will bring them to every main city for a sold-out “tour de France”. Some bands would rather rest after so much effort, but not Eyeless: the band is eager to write new songs for their second album. But one last touring opportunity shows up, that will delay the writing for a few more weeks: a European tour with Misery Index in April 2005 ! Finally back home, Eyeless is ready to unleash the fury they kept for the new album. The songs are recorded during the summer at Trendkill Studios, near Montpellier (South of France). Danny, singer of Angel Crew and long time friend of Eyeless, was down there on holidays, enjoying the sea and the sun. So, very naturally, he ended up recording one song for the new album (“Crushing All My Enemies”). During the fall, the band flew to Denmark to mix the songs with producer Tue Madsen (The Haunted, Hatesphere, Dagoba). Being in Denmark, they also took the opportunity to get Jacob Bredahl (Hatesphere) to sing on the song “Cursed”. The eleven songs are now ready, the album is completed. While shopping the album to labels, Eyeless is invited to give a song from their first album to the Listenable Records compilation Revolution Calling, alongside the best of the French metal scene (Scarve, Gojira…). Summer 2006: Season of Mist signs the band, seduced by their raw energy. The Game of Fear is a new start for Eyeless with a more metal and melodic sound but still a hardcore flavour. Such a musical jewel needed a fitting box. The artwork was done by Chad Michael Ward, known for his work with Static-X, Fear Factory and Marilyn Manson. Kitaro's style is the epitome of the contemplative, highly melodic synthesizer music often associated with the new-age movement. Interestingly enough, this famous Japanese composer taught himself to play electric guitar in high school -- inspired by the R&B music of Otis Redding. In the early '70s, Kitaro formed the Far East Family Band, which released two albums of progressive rock. In 1972, however, he met the innovative German synthesist Klaus Schulze during a trip to Europe. Kitaro was hooked. He built his first synthesizer and began experimenting with all kinds of unusual sounds. His first solo album, Astral Voyage, appeared in 1978 and quickly gained a cult following. Two years later, he produced the first of several soundtracks for Silk Road, a Japanese television documentary series that ran for five years. Several albums of music from Silk Road were released to a growing international contingent of fans who admired his combination of lush, majestic textures and gentle, almost naive, melodies. His music started gaining popularity in nearby Taiwan, for instance, by 1983, and he even performed in a large venue in Taipei in the middle of 1984. Kitaro, however, was still considered an underground artist in America until he signed with Geffen Records in 1986, which re-released seven of his earlier albums and gave him the support to expand his scope in many ways. For instance, after years of creating albums in the privacy of his home studio near Japan's Mt. Fuji, Kitaro produced his 1987 release, The Light of the Spirit, with the help of Mickey Hart. The album featured an array of American musicians and was nominated for a Grammy Award in the Best New-Age Performance category. That same year, Kitaro also made his first live tour of North America and sold two million albums in the U.S. alone. Kitaro's style had changed as well, becoming more theatrical and assertive while retaining a certain level of innocence and purity. His more recent recordings also show a renewed interest in the rock and pop elements that originally attracted him to music in the late '60s; in 1998, he also released the soundtrack to Cirque Ingenieux, a production bound for the Broadway stage. Thinking of You followed a year later; Ancient appeared in spring 2001. It was well received, leading to a sequel of sorts in the like-minded Ancient Journey in 2002. In This Moment is an American metalcore band formed in 2005. Their first album entitled Beautiful Tragedy was released on March 20th, 2007 on Century Media Records. The band's sound falls on the melodic side of the metalcore spectrum, with vocalist Maria Brink utilizing both screams and a good deal of clean, emotive singing. They are scheduled to perform on the 2007 Ozzfest second stage. In 2005, singer Maria Brink and guitarist Chris Howorth met through some common friends. After becoming acquainted they found there was much in common between the two and began writing songs. Soon thereafter they enlisted the help of Los Angeles drummer Jeff Fabb. By mid-2005, the lineup included Brink, Howorth, Fabb, guitarist Blake Bunzell, and bassist Josh Newell. The band recorded demos and posted them on Myspace, where they generated a large internet following. During the summer of 2005, Newell departed from the band to focus on his other project, Ketaset, as well as his sound engineering work. A close friend of the band named Pascual Romero took over bass duties for a short time before Jessy Landry was given the position, and the band found its permanent lineup. By the end of the year, In This Moment had generated such a large following due to diligent internet marketing and "do-it-yourself" touring, they sparked an interest from Century Media Records.
